Every holster on the market before the VSB shared the same design constraint: the manufacturing process dictated the geometry. Kydex bends around a gun shape and retains it. Injection molding follows whatever is inside the mold. The firearm's geometry becomes the holster's geometry. Not by design intent, but by material limitation.

The VSB was designed for a manufacturing process that carries no such constraint.

What the VSB gives you

The combined footprint of a VSB carrying a slimline pistol and a spare magazine measures under five inches at its widest point. A conventional sidecar configuration covering the same loadout typically measures between seven and ten inches at its widest. The difference in concealment, comfort, and wearability is not incremental. It changes what garments you can carry under, how the system behaves during movement, and how aware of the holster you are across a twelve-hour day.

The VSB also eliminates a specific failure mode of the sidecar: the magazine printing through the cover garment because the claw force that tucks the pistol grip simultaneously levers the magazine away from the body. What the VSB asks of you

When the pistol is in the holster, accessing the magazine requires reaching slightly deeper than a standalone carrier would. When the pistol is drawn, the void left by the pistol creates a natural index channel that positions the hand for a clean reload stroke. The geometry works. But it is different, and any carrier transitioning from a sidecar will benefit from dedicated range time to build the new motor pattern before carrying the VSB for daily use.

The tradeoff in plain terms

The VSB is not the fastest reload platform available. It is the most concealable integrated pistol-plus-magazine carry system available. For a carrier whose daily environment requires serious concealment, that priority ordering is correct. The Profile

The Executive Select VSB AIWB holster sits against the body with no hard edges at the contact surface. The piggyback configuration positions the magazine behind the pistol, in line with the body's centerline, rather than beside it. This keeps the entire carry system within a narrow vertical column rather than spreading horizontally across the waistband. The result is a carry profile that behaves more like a single-item holster than a combined loadout, both in how it feels against the body and in how it presents under a cover garment.

Ride height and cant are set through the belt attachment configuration. The VSB's multiple mounting points accept RCS IWB belt hardware and most aftermarket overhooks, allowing the carrier to position the holster for their specific body geometry and garment choice. Once set, the attachment system holds that position through movement, seated carry, and the draw stroke. The pistol comes out of the same location every time.

Daily carry in a professional environment imposes constraints that recreational carry does not.

The Piggyback Configuration

Conventional sidecar holsters attach the magazine carrier to the outside of the holster body. The combined width is the sum of both components plus the hardware between them. That is an additive solution to the spare magazine problem.

The VSB's piggyback configuration is not additive. The magazine occupies void space inside the holster body that would otherwise be dead volume. The pistol cavity and the magazine cavity share a single holster body shaped to the carrier's anatomy. No second component is attached to the exterior. No additional width is introduced at the beltline.

The magazine cavity depth is a deliberate design decision. When the pistol is in the holster, the magazine requires a slightly deeper reach. When the pistol is drawn, the empty pistol cavity becomes an index channel. The support hand seats naturally into that channel, and the magazine is accessed from a consistent, repeatable position. The geometry is different from a sidecar. It is not harder. Dual-Domain Retention

The VSB uses different retention systems for the firearm and the magazine because the requirements for each are different.

Firearm retention in the VSB is passive and adjustable. The holster body provides a precise fit to the pistol that produces a crisp, audible click on insertion, confirming the pistol is fully seated and secured. Retention force is user-adjustable to accommodate differences in draw speed preference, body type, and activity level. The adjustment holds its setting without drift.

Magazine retention is magnetic. The magnet provides consistent hold force independent of temperature, wear, and time. It does not require the carrier to develop tactile sensitivity to know whether the magazine is secure, because the hold is consistent every time. Insertion is positive and silent. Removal requires deliberate intent and produces no accidental disengagement during movement or the draw stroke.

The choice to use different retention mechanisms for each cavity reflects the different use profile of each. The firearm is drawn under stress. Its retention must be calibrated to the carrier's draw stroke, and that calibration varies by individual. The magazine is rarely drawn. Its retention must be reliable and consistent across all conditions, and it benefits from the consistency that magnetic retention provides.

Soma Form

The VSB's exterior geometry is not a styling choice. It is the functional output of a design principle called Soma Form.

Soma derives from the Greek word for body. Soma Form is the design principle that the human body, not the firearm, is the primary geometric reference for the holster. Conventional holsters are shaped by the firearm and then pressed against the body. Soma Form begins with the body contact surface and engineers the firearm cavity within those constraints.

Most holsters are fundamentally gun-shaped objects. The VSB is not.

Thermoformed Kydex and injection-molded polymer both make Soma Form impossible to achieve. Kydex begins as a flat sheet heated and pressed around a firearm. Injection molding requires geometries constrained by draft angles, parting lines, and mold release. In both cases, the resulting object inherits the geometry of the gun. That geometry is excellent for retention. It is often poor for extended daily carry against a human body that flexes, bends, sits, and moves.

Advanced additive manufacturing removes those constraints. The interior of the VSB is engineered to fit the specific pistol platform with precise dimensional tolerances. The exterior is engineered to follow the natural curvature of the abdomen in the AIWB carry position, distributing contact across a broader surface area while eliminating the concentrated edge pressure and angular profile that conventional holsters transfer directly to the body.
