The Standard
The Perun holster is built for scale, consistency, and endurance, performing the same on day one as it does after years of daily concealed carry.
A full-size pistol beneath a sport coat. A duty-sized gun under an untucked t-shirt. A red-dot equipped handgun carried OWB without looking like you are wearing duty gear.
Conventional wisdom says concealment starts with carrying less gun.
The Perun does not ask you to carry less gun.
It uses geometry to make full-size handguns disappear beneath clothing that should not work.
Injection molded from a proprietary polymer blend engineered for sustained heat, stress, and long-term use, the Perun delivers consistency from unit to unit and year to year.
For more than two decades, Raven Concealment Systems has focused on a single problem: carrying serious handguns discreetly and predictably in the real world.
Good gear disappears from behavior.
What Makes an OWB Concealment Holster Work
| Requirement | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Minimal stand-off from the body | Excess stand-off creates leverage against the cover garment and increases printing. |
| Stable retention | Retention should remain consistent over time rather than gradually changing through normal use. |
| Geometry that works with cover garments | Shirts, jackets, hoodies, and sport coats should work with the holster rather than being forced to compensate for it. |
| Optics compatibility | Modern carry pistols increasingly use slide-mounted optics and should not require special accommodations. |
| Integrated body shields | Body shields protect garments and maintain repeatable access during reholster. |
| Suppressor-height sight and threaded barrel compatibility | Common carry configurations should work without requiring compromise. |
| Broad fitment across body types | A holster designed around a narrow set of ideal users eventually excludes everyone else. Large organizations require systems that perform across a wide range of body types, clothing styles, and assignments. |
The Perun was built around those requirements from the beginning.
The OWB Compromise
Every OWB carry method is a negotiated compromise. OWB gives up some concealment in exchange for faster access, greater comfort over long hours, and the ability to carry a serious pistol without needing larger pants or surrendering waistband real estate.
Your cover garments are still part of the concealment equation, but the Perun was designed to work with them and give you greater flexibility in how you dress. T-shirts. Hoodies. Sport coats. Jackets. The objective was never to eliminate the role of the cover garment. The objective was to make more of them viable options.
Historically, the tradeoff was predictable: more stand-off, more printing, and a larger concealment penalty than comparable IWB systems.
The Perun was designed around a different objective: minimize what OWB gives up while maximizing what OWB does best.
Concealment is geometry, not carry position.
The Profile
The Perun holster rides high and close to the body with a footprint only marginally larger than the pistol itself.
Reducing stand-off changes everything. Less leverage against the cover garment. Less printing. Less bulk pushing outward from the body.
The result is an OWB holster capable of concealing full-size and optics-equipped pistols beneath clothing conventional assumptions say should not work.
Accessibility Under Armor
OWB holster accessibility is not simply about speed.
Concealable armor changes the geometry of the draw stroke and reholster. With some body types, an IWB holster can position the pistol so close to the body that armor interferes with the path of the gun during presentation or return to the holster.
Additional offset from the body can create clearance that helps the pistol clear armor more naturally during both draw and reholster.
Raven Concealment Systems also offers optional belt attachment kits that increase drop and offset from the body. These configurations can improve draw and reholster geometry for armor-equipped users and can also benefit body types or clothing styles that create unique concealment challenges, including high-waisted carry positions.
For plainclothes law enforcement, executive protection, federal users, and others operating in armor-equipped environments, that additional clearance can become an advantage.
The Perun preserves the accessibility advantages of OWB while minimizing the concealment penalties traditionally associated with the carry position.
Large-Scale Issue Changes the Requirements
The Perun platform has been selected and issued agency-wide across multiple federal law enforcement organizations.
Agency-wide issue creates a different standard. A holster cannot simply work for a handful of ideal users. It has to function across a broad range of body types, clothing choices, assignments, and operational environments while delivering durability, concealment, comfort, and accessibility day after day.
Individual users can adapt around weaknesses. Large organizations cannot.
Ambidextrous. Intentionally.
The same holster body works left- or right-handed without modification or compromise.
Each Perun includes three pairs of modular 1.5" belt loops:
- Left-hand 10° cant
- Right-hand 10° cant
- Ambidextrous 0° cant
Most right-handed users prefer RH 10°. Most left-handed users prefer LH 10°.
Configure it once for your preferred draw stroke and carry position.
Then stop thinking about it.
Retention That Stays Where You Put It
Most adjustable holster retention systems rely on a screw threaded through a rubber grommet positioned between two holster halves. That design works, but every draw stroke flexes the grommet. Repeated compression and movement can eventually allow hardware to back off, changing retention over time.
The Perun approaches retention differently.
Its retention slider travels along a dedicated track and locks into the position you set. There is no rubber grommet repeatedly compressing and relaxing during use, and no flexing spacer acting as a wear point within the adjustment system.
Set retention using a Phillips-head screwdriver and add a witness mark to the holster body if desired. A quick glance confirms whether anything has moved.
The objective was straightforward: retention that feels the same after thousands of presentations as it did the day you set it.

Body Shields — By Design
The Perun's full-height inboard and outboard body shields are integrated directly into the ambidextrous holster body.
They protect cover garments from slide serrations and sharp edges while shielding the pistol from sweat and environmental exposure.
They also maintain clear access to the holster mouth during reholster and support repeatable indexing during return to the holster.
They are not add-ons. They are part of the system.
Optics and Pistol Compatibility
The Perun is a non-light-bearing OWB holster. For weapon-mounted light configurations, see Perun LC.
Supports most slide-mounted optics including:
- Trijicon RMR
- Trijicon SRO
- Trijicon RCR
- Aimpoint ACRO P-2
- Holosun 507C
- Holosun EPS
- Holosun 509T
- Steiner MPS
- Leupold DeltaPoint Pro
Compatible with suppressor-height front sights up to .350".
The open muzzle design accommodates most common threaded and extended barrels with thread protectors installed while allowing debris and spent casings to exit through the bottom of the holster.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Perun conceal a full-size pistol?
Yes. The Perun was designed around minimizing stand-off and controlling how the firearm interfaces with the body, allowing full-size pistols to conceal beneath untucked shirts, jackets, and sport coats.
What is the difference between the Perun and Perun LC?
The Perun is designed for standard non-light-bearing pistols. The Perun LC accommodates weapon-mounted lights and uses different holster geometry to support those configurations.
Is the Perun optics compatible?
Yes. The Perun supports common slide-mounted optics including RMR, ACRO, SRO, EPS, 509T, and similar footprints. The optic cut accommodates many of today's most widely used red-dot configurations without requiring additional modification.
Can the Perun accommodate threaded barrels?
Yes. The open muzzle design supports most common threaded and extended barrels with thread protectors installed. This also allows debris and spent casings to exit through the bottom of the holster rather than potentially interfering with reholstering.
Is the Perun left-hand compatible?
Yes. The Perun uses a fully ambidextrous holster body and includes left- and right-hand belt attachment configurations.
Can the Perun be used with body armor?
Many users operating in armor-equipped environments prefer OWB carry because additional clearance can improve access and reholster geometry depending on body type, ride height, and armor configuration. Optional drop and offset attachment configurations are also available for users needing additional clearance.
How much does the Perun weigh?
The standard Perun weighs approximately 7.04 ounces. The light-compatible Perun LC weighs approximately 7.68 ounces. Weight may vary slightly depending on pistol fitment and configuration.
Is the Perun designed for concealed carry?
Yes. The Perun was specifically developed for concealed OWB use, including plainclothes assignments, off-duty carry, and everyday concealed carry where accessibility, comfort, and concealment all need to coexist.
